    Openbox S10 v Dreambox 800HD Pro

I am after some advice on the above two boxes.

Basically I am after a box that connects to cccam client. Nothing fancy just so I can use it with a motorised dish , it can pick HD channels up and picks up all available satellites

Im not technically gifted so setting up images and software is going to prove a little difficult but I'll try.

Can people please tell me what problems thu have cone across with both boxes

What are the pros & cons of each box

I'm just after a box that is easy to update than can connect to cccam

Picture is good and can work my motor

Programme guides are not important to me

Just something that i will be able to use for a while.

Updating a dreambox seems quite complicated I don't want to "brick" my box before I've even used it.

I've seen some dreamboxes on eBay and they say they will update the image before sending and what picture do I want ?

        To be honest no idea

        So confused

images are usually a personal choice as there are a few good ones around but as long as you choose a image for your sim/ssl type you will be fine and you can get all the help you need on here. the latest dm800 images have all the addons like tspanel ect included so its just a case of entering your lat/long details ,config file and and downloading a channel list and your done. regards mdt

The downloading of a channel list is done when I scan for satellites is that right ?

Does this box need a null cable or can everything be down via USB ?

I keep changing my mind from s10 easy to set up or dreambox better value for money

If your talking about bouquets,i change when i feel the need which is about once a month if lucky.
Frequencies change a bit but not always the popular channels.
These boxes are not plug and play but once you get your teeth into it they are pretty simple.
All the answers are on the forum and if you get stuck just post.
Just be weary we cant talk openly on the forum but we can via pm

if you want something simple to use, go blade bm7000hd, or if you have the ability go dm800. blade are piece off piss, all done via usb

I wasnt bragging how fast i could do a box was merely pointing out how quickly a box could be set up.
You could probably do it in 10 minutes without all the booting between downloads etc if you know what you're doing.
Dreambox 500 is similar but flashing is normally done with Dreamup and null modem cable.
Would choose Dreambox over most boxes due to the support on the forums.
