Anyone In Belfast With A Motorised Sat Sytem?

Is there anyone from Belfast or even any other part of N.Ireland using a Motorised Sat System?.

    Here's my problem....

I've a Technomate 97cm dish with high gain LNB hook up to a Starview HD Combo, if I move the dish using USALS to 5.0E Serius and using the frequency 12073 H 27500 I get a Single Strength of 82% and Quality Strength of 98% and if a do a scan for channels I pick up around over 200 channels, using the info on kingofsats no there are suppose to be over 500, but the the ones I'm interested in the Viasat Xtra PL's etc... I can't find even doing a manual search.

When i first installed the dish and scanned for channels on 5.0E it picked up the Viasats no problem but now it can't find any of them. I've had to a a couple of factory resets on the box, trying out new firmware etc...but in every case when scanning for channels it never find found the Viasats.

What I need to know is do I need a bigger dish?, if you can find them on your system what size is your dish.

I should add that on most of the other sats I can find the channels I'm looking for except for a couple of them where I believe I 'll need a least a 2m or above dish for these and I'm not bothered with these anyway as they are of no interest to me.

    thanks

Im not that far from you in portadown. i have 1m dish and i can,t get these either. I take it you want these for the english commentry on the epl. Maybe more from norn iron could post here and let us know if they are getting them.i thought with my size of dish i would get them but looks unlikely. I have read on here before that its on the nordic beam not the european beam that we pick up here. Hope im proved wrong thou.

I can get viasat history (fss) with a good picture but what ever the (fss)means i don,t know. I seem to be getting good signal on the sports but they are not opening. Im sure i also read somewhere that viasat sports can,t be shared but im not 100 percent sure. I will try again later and if anything changes i will post it up.

Thanks for the reply gracieboo, it is strange that when I first installed the dish I picked them up but now I can't.

I read that too about Viasat but I think it only applies to the Viasat HD, I can pick up the Viasat History as well on 5.0E only thing it's scrambled which is strange because according to the Server I'm using it has Full Viasat.

Thanks for replying, if we do need that sort of dish then I'm going to wait a while, can't afford one at the minute.

Yeah me too. according to my server i have full viasat also, thats what makes me think its out of range as everything else listed is open. As the viasat history (fss) is open on mine i presume its from the european beam.

fss means fixed satellite services and referes to the band. the viasat epl channels are on a nordic vertical transponder and the beam gets weaker the further west/north you go. as for the viasat channels being s***** its the hd ones as the card is paired and theres no fix atm. regards mdt
