Thanks for all the ideas, scaffold pole in the ground sounds like the way to go, hope it gets a bit warmer again before i do it. Cheers. ps i'm two houses away from a south facing wall, i asked to swap but they didn't want to know.

Just a footnote to all this advice, my next door neighbour works on a farm and i asked him if there was any scaffold poles on the farm, he replied, how many do you want, so thats sorted then, thanks again for all advice given. Bren.Comment
