    BLADE OR DREAMBOX?

Blade 7000 or dreambox 800 both hd which one is the best? Which one is easy to set up? Which one will last longer? Which one is the best for software and updates? Need your views as a lot been said about both sattilite receivers but still no idea which is the best out of the two?

would have thought the blade was easier to set up judging from how many are been bought up by newbies, but its closed source and dms are open sourced and probably buying a clone, some are good and some are bad, what warranty do you get and where to send it if a fault develops.need a bit more knowledge .

Dreambox for me as the support will always be available. No closed source box offers that. It is simple to set up but agree the blade is even easier.

It can depend on your Cline provider aswell, dish n broadband connection to get a totally glitch free picture. As yet ive failed to find 1 totally glitch free.

I have a blade the picture quality is superb and for a newbie the set up is easy. Having said that the prob i have with it is its a single tuner so when it comes to recording a programme i cnt watch anything else from a different TP. Even tho the box claims you can record 2 channels at once and watch another, they all have to be on the same TP which isnt the case most of the time.

1 question what does open source n closed source mean?

open source anybody can write a fix as its open, closed source
only developers of box can do it is private.

No you won't? The only regret you have in this hobby is not learning.

There is absolutely nothing complicated about flashing a dreambox. It takes 20 minutes reading all of which is available on this site in the "stickys" - this will stand you in good stead and give you much more versatility.

Billbo not sure if you have had a bad experience but if you had you ought to have posted here for help. Slightly puzzled how you could even compare the blade to a dream if you havent mastered both and it doesnt appear as if you have. Give it another try when you get the chance you wont be disappointed.
