Can Virmin block my Blade

Hello i have a Blade 7000 Combo pre set up and it has been working great for about a week the last few days i have not been able to get any sly chanels but i still get all the free to air chanels i have a virgin 10meg cable internet and when i do a ping test i always get over 9meg - my mate brought round his blade box for me to try as we both got them at the same time and his is working 100% at his house but he is on BT - i conected his box up and no sly chanels only FTA i took it back to his house and it worked perfect could my dish have moved slightly my signal is 98% and the blue bar is sometimes full then sometimes at a quarter to half, any ideas as eny help would be greatfully appreciated thanks in advance

have u gone into network in your box and see if its connected ,, also change to dchp setting if its on and if it wasnt and u have clicked it now reboot ,, something in your house might be using the same ip address

You are hitting the red button in the 9991 menu to connect to the internet aren't you?

I've 3 box's running on VM 30MB and I've never had any problems, speaking for myself I don't think VM give a crap because it's not there TV service we are using.

i have the blade 7000s and have the same 10meg broadband from Vermin and no problems mate.

its more likely to be your router or other settings. Have you contacted your cline provider? it could be a problem at his end

Using 10mb from virgin, Never any problems, Except for when the twonks are doing " maintenance " in my area, Fck if I spent as much time doing maintenance on my house as they do on my internet I'd own a palace.

had a look in ip settings and DHCP usage is ON but the ip address- gateway and DNS is 0.0.0.0 subnet mask is 255.0.0.0 i do not know what they mean any ideas please

and i have tried pressing RED in the 9991 menue but t stays disconnected even though active is on

i have just upgraded my Vermin from 10meg to 20meg and the new netgear hub router i have got works brilliantly with my Blade. With the old netgear router i was using first it wouldn't work with this new firmware then once i factory reset the box it started to work, the onlye issue i had was i had to keep going to the ip settings menu and press RED to connect the box to my wireless everytime it went on standby or was turned off.

However this new netgear router connects autmatically, so that problem is probably with just the old netgear routers.

@nsw9154 what router do you have, and have you got or noted down your cline info?

your router may have a problem with the latest firmware if you've upgraded, try the following steps in my nxt post it has helped myself and others

All those people with a NETGEAR ROUTER and having trouble getting the new Blade firmware to work follow the steps below:

Firstly I have tried downloading the firmware straight to my box, but all the channels appear with scrambled message even though it***8217;s picked up my IP etc and the NEWCAMD is showing connected but it***8217;s not highlighted in green.
Someone mentioned I should do a factory reset which I did. Please note if you are going to do this make a note of your CLINE or NEWCAMD as once you do a factory reset all your info on the box is lost.

So I did a factory reset by switching off the box at the back then I held down the menu button on the front of the box, then I switched the box back on whilst still holding down the menu button. Then you will see something appear, press option 4 on your remote this is factory reset and it shouldn***8217;t even take a second to restore.

Ok once that***8217;s done you***8217;ll need to put in your USB with the new firmware at the back of the box and go to utilities and download the firmware as you would have before.

Once that***8217;s done you***8217;ll see a message NO CHANNELS when you try watch something, so you need to access the 9991 menu and input all your CLINE or NEWCAMD info in and connect like you have done previously.
You then need to go to the menu and go to IP settings and press red on your remote, it may take a few seconds for it to pick up your IP. Once it has you can leave IP settings and go to Blade online and download the channels.
Once that***8217;s done and make sure your IP is picked up you should be able to view all the channels.
Well this is how it worked for me anyway, hope this helps.

I tried all the new features and they work.

Downside to this firmware every time I switch the box off n back on again I have to go to the IP settings menu and press red on remote as it doesn***8217;t pick up my router IP automatically as it did with the old firmware, I think this is just a NETGEAR problem but not sure but it would annoy me to have to do this everymorning after having the box on standby overnight, so I***8217;ve gone back to using the old firmware until this problems fixed.

i think i might have found the problem i went in to 9991 then pressed OK for server edit 9991 again and my ID-Password-address and port info is all blank the only thing that is still their is the DES-KEY have i some how deleated them as i never did a system restore

Then you'll need a new sub provider if you can't remember your old one.

Just call guy you got it from and ask him to resend line(s). He would of most probably stuck a number on bottom of box so he knows what line you have.
