    Blade 7000.... Dropping IP.

Im having problems with my blade holding an IP address.

Its connected directly to my router (bt home hub)

However when I get it set up wit the C line in and connected. I watch TV for about 10mins then the picture goes.

If I go into IP settings it shows that there is no IP pressent.

If I turn the box and router off and on it still doesnt pick up and IP.

**The light at the NIC dont flash at all when inserting the cable.**

Anyone else had problems with this?

    Many thanks for the help

Some people have been having problems with certain routers on certain firmwares. Upgrade to the latest and try it, then try the one from last year.

I have tried it both on the a netgear bridge (WN200RPT)

And also direct to the router (bt home hub V2.0 ((black)))

Are either of the above known to give an issues? I knew I should have bought a Belkin router!!!!

Thats the thing when I press the red button it doesn't seem to do anything. No matter how many times I press it. NOTHING!! Any idea why?

The blade is about to take a trip out my 3rd story window if it doesn't wise the bap and start behaving!

Thanks for the help guys but keep it comming if you can, it's much appreciated...

if you've connected directly to the router and still having probs then what makes you think a Belkin router would have been better? probably a faulty box

            Its the NIC.

            Or lack of it.

Its faulty some how. Ethernet clipped in, no connection. Ethernet plugged in half way (not clipped) and tilted to the right I get a connection.

Have to get a new box from seller.

I have, at last, found the problem. (yes been through a selection of cables) All work with my kryptview, laptops.

Its the ethernet port on the box. If an ethernet cable is fully inserted (clipped in) there is no connection. If only parshley inserted I get a link (orange connection light, lights up)

Im of the understanding there is a batch of these boxes with the same problem.
