    medi@link ml9700 stuck on boot

i bought a media link a while back and had a play it was working great but i did not like the setup of the box so game it to a mate who has had it running for a while now but he rang me today sayng the box just sticks on boot and will not go any further as if the firmware has become corrupt !

the box will not come on the screen so cant reflash as this is done in the menues so does anyone know if this box is savalgable ?

Can you access the box through ftp?....thats if you set the service up through the remote access service in the menu!

Have you tried loading the firmware through the usb?

i can not load through use as the box does not boot up unless u know of another way to load the firmware other than through the on screen menus ?

i pulled the battery from inside the box.

Latest firmware on a usb pen.....box off, insert usb...power box on..the box will load the firmware from the usb pen.

surley this box that cost ?299 new has a recovery method for a bad firmware flash , i have tried many firmware revisions on a usb stick in the front and back usb and booting but still stays on boot,

maybe some kind of button press as it boots isneeded ?

i have tried holding the power button down and after 15 seconds it turns all the lights off as if in standby mode but still no update !

i cant even find any details of the manufacturer to email them the supplier i bought it from is no longer trading so can not send it back !

i have googled my problem and only 2 results show the same as i have but no solution posted in the forums they posted in i have emailed/messaged the other people with the same problem to see if they found a solution but as yet no reply.

this is very very frustrating .
