hi does anybody know anything about the spiderbox going down either the end of this month or next i got an email from the guy i bought it from and he says i need to download a new patch he reckons he can do it for me for ?25 stuff that do we know if its a scam or is there any truth in this scary email

if it's just a matter of firmware update....it's not rocket science with the spiderbox. you will find it on the web - download it to usb and upgrade.

yeah as above its a free upgrade patch for the HD boxes if you cant find it post your model and someone will sort you out.dont pay for it.

have now posted them in a new thread if you dont know how to load just ask someone will lead you through it.

seems to be a common problem no matter which patch has been used on the 5000 SD boxes

plenty of info on the net , but no solution yet

Think I have the latest patch on. I have been searching around and others seem to have the same problem. If anyone finds a solution/update can they let me know please.

think its dec 2010 or jan 2011 or so , patch 2.25 that was the latest

suggest you add your name to the growing list at the main forum that deals with spiderboxes , there is a whole thread about it over there talking about the 5000 SD issue

in that case you are f**k*d until a fix arrives as many others are reporting the same issue

my thoughts are its not the patch at all , its the login using your mac addy giving them problems , the patch has been working all year

Got in and had a look, seems it's a problem for many. Proxy servers are a god send.

id give it a few days to see if its fixed but support for the 5000sd has been thin over the last 12 months although theres still a bit to keep you guys going via fta/softcam. regards mdt

I have a line on it anyway but there are a few channels I cant get with it.
Although I don't think much of them personally, the box has been a very good buy. I have no problem with the products.
