    communal sat dish set ups

You know Like if you have a few houses in a row, say 3 for example and the middle house has the communal sat dish fitted and the main wiring from the dish goes first of all into the loft of that house and then also goes from there into the other two houses and each house has the electrical boxs powered up with the sat cables going to them etc.

Question is this, does the middle house where the communal dish is fitted have to always have electric power running 24/7 so that the other two houses have a live feed or does the electric boxs in the other two houses work independant ?

What I am trying to say is, if the main house in the middle lost power somehow lets say if the person had a pay as you go electric meter and thier electric went off, would the other two houses still have fully working sat feeds ?

Thats what I need to know please if anyone could help.

    cheers.

Our communal one is powered independently so there would have to be a power cut to knock it out...............

      hmmm, thanks mate.

so even though the main cabling goes into the middle house first does that just mean that the cables will go to each house via the loft in the house where the sat dish is fitted and we all have an independant connection and power supplys ?

I know that in my loft there is an electrical box thing with a light on it that the sat cables go in and out of, I cant remember what you call them though, .

So basically I guess in what Your saying is we will all have a connection from the dish and the main house where the cables first of all go into does not make any difference what so ever to the other houses if thier electricity was to go off ??

Suppose thats the same question again but put slightly different, .

                hmmm , interesting mate, thanks,

so are you saying in theory even though I have the electric box thing in my loft where the sat cables go in and out of theres still a possibility that the house where the dish is fitted and cables firstly go into, you saying that there is every chance that if thier electricity was to go off then the other houses would lose the satalite picture ???

i'm trying to figure out if thats the case what i can do, hmmm, cause its just not right is it, you know what i mean ?
