    Darkmotor vs tm2300

    Hi

Just purchased my Protek 9750 and more than happy with it...now I just want more channels. I would now like to purchase a motor and have narrowed it down to DM & TM2300.

To me the DM slightly nudges it due to the Azimuth angle (180) vs 160. I welcome other comments to help me decide.

    Second question:

I have a quad LNB 28.2 and two single LNB's (19.2 & 13). I want to keep the 28.2 on a fixed dish. Can I just use one of the single LNB's with the above motor on a new dish? The LNB's are about six years old so I'm not sure if its worth splashing out on a new one.

    Thx

ive never used/installed a dm motor but the only criticism i could find about them is that its very fiddlly to get the f-cons on in situ. the tm23/2600 motors are very popular with very few complaints so its down to choice/cash outlay imo.you could get a motor, dish and brand new lnb for around ?100 all in. regards mdt

i got the tm2600, only had it about a 1-2 months, but defo feels solid to me,
apparently the difference between tm2300 and tm2600,
is that the tm2600 has the metal gears, by the way the dark motor is suppose to have metal gears too i think

Hi. I too have a TM2600 motor. Cost me 49 pounds and worth every penny. Very easy to setup and reliable. But remember dish size limit is 1.2 metres for this motor.

Of the last two DarkMotor installs I've done, one was DOA and the other is on the blink after a couple of months up.

Thanks for your replies. I may well go for the TM then if the angle of the TM is less than the DM. The only other thing I read is that the 2600 I think has metal gears making it slightly nosier then the 2300.

I will no take the plunge then head on over to "How to install a motirised dish"

I wouldnt worry about the azimuth range you wont get that close to the horizon I"m sure.
I"v run a nylon geared TM2100a for over 5yrs using it every day and its never failed, its getting a little noisey now so have replaced it with a TM2300(?42.11 delivered from syste****)I"v also got a TM2600 which has metal gears but there is nothing to choose between them as far as I"m concerned, as they seem pretty bullet proof. you can of course use any universal lnb but after 6yrs I"d give it a new one.

Make sure you go for metal gear motor.
                    TM or DM very good.
