I have a Globalstar 11000 HD/3d receiver and an 80cm motorized dish. This was fitted in Feb and worked fine, i got Tring, sky sports italia, novasports etc. etc. then i started getting less and less signal. i lost tring altogether. I thought it was some tress nearby blocking the signal. so today I got a guy to cut the trees back and still problems. i rang the guy I bought it off and he told me to change the transponder settings for tring which worked pretty well. However I am still getting a poor signal for some sly channels and no luck with sly italia etc. on astra1. Do I need to change transponder details for other satleites as well or is my dish too small?? I live in Coventry and they all worked pretty well when it was first fitted. i sometimes get some channels like chelsea tv and other times it says 'scrambled' - any ideas guys??

dish needs realigning.go to a sat you still get ok say 28.2East and if on usals change your longitude position in your motorised settings menu by 0.2 degrees at a time east or west and exit to full screen each time to check result keep doing this til you get max signal.if on diseqc 1.2 use the move dish function to do the same thing then save once max signal is obtained.
If this doesnt work you need to realign your dish outside including the elevation with your local lat/long in the stb.but as you still get some signal the 1st options should work.(your dish will be big enough for general use)go to Home - FlySat Satellite Chart for TP detailsLast edited by dick b; 16 November, 2011, 12:13. -
the size of dish is fine , as it was working previously
as stated , try altering your usals location in small steps to see if you can get the optimum point and test the satellites , then if it works ok note down the actual position you have used and compare it to your actual location ( longitude only )
so if you were at 1.0w , and the usals has to be at 3.0w , then the dish and motor are 2 degrees out , which isnt a lot
if its poor no matter what you do the motor and dish alignment need checking for accuracy at your location , and possibly a slight tweak is needed ( which wont be very much )Comment

those figures seem ok for the new W3C satellite at 16e and if it is pointed there I dont see why it needs altering at all
for 16e try one of the new transponders like these fta channels
al jaz balkans on 12676H 02800
tvr international on 11475V 29950
vizion plus on 11283V 27500
then check tring sports on the same one as vizion plus above
and check tring comedy on that 11283V 27500 as well
nb sly italia is on hotbird not astra 1 and both have strong signals here in the uk
sly uk is on 28e on astra 2 with very strong signals on most channels
check your usals and optimise your position by tweaking it slightly until its the best on all satsLast edited by ramjet; 17 November, 2011, 09:26.Comment

Gents - I could do with some help. I am trying to pick up the sky channels but I have got a bit stuck. On the motorised system menu I have the astra2 sat up. On certain transponders I have a good signal but others are poor or zero. I am changing 'position auto' east and west but I can't get anything above zero signal for these transponders. These transponders are the ones for sky sports etc. I had all of these channels previously.
Could you give me a steer in very simple idiot proof steps that I can follow please
ThanksComment

1st send the dish to 28.2 via the motor.Gents - I could do with some help. I am trying to pick up the sky channels but I have got a bit stuck. On the motorised system menu I have the astra2 sat up. all the TPs are good and strong on 28.2E.
try the following FTA tps 10.789V 22000,10.804H 22000,12.525H 27500,and 12.560V 27500.if you cannot get these strong and clear your dish alignment is out.
go to the weakest channel you can still receive then move the whole motor/dish assembly L/R to get the best possible signal and lock up then slacken the dish elevation adjuster(not the one on the motor as this should be fixed at your location latitude) and move it slowly up/down to get max signal again and lock up.Last edited by dick b; 21 November, 2011, 16:06.Comment
