    Sky+HD Samsung box

    Has anyone successfully fitted a 2.5" laptop drive to a Samsung HD box? (or any other box). If so which one?

            I guess nobodies responding because, its a bit of a "whats the point" thing, so maybe nobody has ever bothered to try it..

            2.5" drives are considerably more expensive than the 3.5" drives that are meant to go in the Sky+HD box.. I suppose it can be done, with something like this making it easy enough..
            [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/LINDY-2-5-Inch-SATA-Adapter/dp/B002S86OFC"]LINDY 2.5 Inch to 3.5 Inch SATA HDD Adapter: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories[/ame]

            Why do you want to do it? The only benefit I can see is maybe the 2.5" drive will be quieter..

              Thanks for the reply. The 3.5" HDD I have is loud and emits a loud humming sound. I have tried removing the HDD plastic tray it sits in but this made no difference.

              I have a couple of 2.5" HDDs and am not brave enough to try one out.

                Well I cant see why it wouldnt be doable, I cant remember if theyre PATA or SATA drives in the Sky+ boxes, but either way you'll need an appropriate adaptor to allow the Sky box internal connectors to connect to the 2.5" drive.. Have a butchers on ebay..
