Hi. If you read carefully all my comments you will realise what i am saying is exactly what you are saying. The 3pm argument was used by SKY/EPL because THEY dont allow it in the UK but DO allow it in the rest of the EU. That is why the lady from the pub won her case - she argued, like YOU are saying, that it was a breach of her right to trade equally within the EU. Take care.
Viasat blank screen at weekend for 3pm ?

Not to get into some kind of dispute over this but this has already been mentioned it is nothing to do with Sky at all the judgement is purely to do with the EPL who own and sell all rights to screen EPL games around the world.
The only reason Sky is mentioned is purely the fact that they are bending the EPL's ear about losing thousands of pounds a year on licensee subscriptions and nothing else.
This judgement does not affect any individual as we have the right to purchase any subscription card package from any EU country and view it privately in our own homes.
Sky are pissed because pub and club owners are getting all football for next to nothing a month compared to there extortionate prices. No wonder so many pubs and clubs closed due to there pure greed tactics.

One of the main reasons I sold my business was the Sky Business cost of subscription, which was ?1250 per month, add to that the smoking ban and interference by various government agencies, made it no longer a viable proposition.
There have been comments in this thread regarding the 3pm Saturday watershed, this was never mentioned in the Murphy judgement and has no bearing on European viewing rights and was a caveat that the FA imposed on Sky to protect attendance at league matches, which is useless anyway.
I have a Viasat Latvia subsciption for my home and have informed the well known dealer that I purchased the system from that if the 3pm matches are blocked I require a full refund, less time watched, for goods not as described.
Always remember that your contract is with the dealer, not with any third party he may have purchased the goods from.Comment

Hi. I totally agree with QuinVito. As i have said a number of times the judgement has nothing to do with 3pm or 10pm. It is to do with EVERYBODY having the same equal rights whether SKY/EPL like it or not. When SKY sign broadcasting rights with companies like NOVA TRING SKY ITALY etc etc the copyrights agreements are all included. Then the packages from NOVA etc etc HAVE to be made available to ALL citizens of the EU. The judgement has nothing to do with copyrights but to do with the fact that people like QuinVito were being charged over 1200 pounds a month when he could have brought a subscription for around 300 pounds a year. Also have you noticed how many pubs have closed down since SKY started showing football. I wonder why.... We have to wait for judgement day. Take care.Comment

Yes, i saw this too last night.
I believe this is an ADDED sub now on top of what is already paid, but at least we can see a way forward now.
This may suggest that the EPL or Sky has nothing to do with all this & it's just Viasat
realizing what a popular product they have & simply want to charge more for it.
I would think you need to have the Gold package with this being an additional bolt on package, but for 3 Euro per month. it's not even a pint is it.Last edited by rigsby71; 8 December, 2011, 10:27.Comment

I do not know if this would be of any help but on the Viasat Lithuanian website it gives instructions for searching for ' lost or missing ' programmes,in effect this is a factory reset and reboot.
Google Translate
I assume the same would apply to all Viasat variants.
The instructions are in the ' Customer ' section in Viasat Help.Last edited by QuinVito; 8 December, 2011, 14:30.Comment

Yes, tried all that but still no joy. Still blocked.
The channels are blocked by Viasat for a reason.
Will try again tonight. (mine is Lithuanian aswell)
One of my suppliers is telling me that there is a contract dispute between Viasat & EPL & all 3pm matches are blocked for a maximum of two weeks.
It may have something to do with the Karen Murphy case which is set to continue next Friday which explains the two week hold period.
Only my opinion though.Comment

Just noticed this on LJs site
"Due to an injunction by the English Premier League, all Saturday 3pm games have been withdrawn from the Viasat Baltic service as from December 3rd, 2011 ... until further notice."
Looking bad!
