    Need some best advice

I?m living in Valencia, Spain at 38*57?N ? 0*28? The higher end frequencies (11.222 to 12.74) of 28*E are OK, but the lower frequencies of Freesat are not very good (10.714 to 11.222) and disappear after 16:00 hrs. The HD frequencies seem to be on the high end frequencies and hence more able to be received.

I?m currently using a Amstrad A2P0802, Sly+ box with Sly(free)sat white card. The Sly+ facility has expired. I have a 2.4M motorised (jack) Prime focus dish with a dual Invacom 0.3dB LNB, for the reception of the Sly+ and Freesat channels.

Plus, I have a Dreambox DM-500-S clone (unused) linked to an oval 1.2M motorised Offsetdish for receiving 19*E, 13*E, 7*W, & 30*W, again with an Invacom 0.3dB LNB (single). There is a Illusion MotoSat3 rotor attached to this 1.2M dish.

I also have access to an Illusion M5 STB & an M-VisionE+ FCIS-9080 NET STB. My faithful Samsung 9500 recently expired.

    1) I?d like to change my satellite STB for a machine that has a more sensitive tuner and can receive the HD frequencies and one that has a PVR built-in. Also I need to be able to use my white sky card in the receiver. The ability to change the SR-FEC, SID-VPID (to 29500 as per HD box) would be desirable. As the HD signal is a lot stronger.

I was considering a Pace Sly+HD but I?d need a subscription for the plus(+) option(not available). Hence a PVR built in option would seem the best.

Will someone please advise me of the top 3 Satellite machines to achieve my goal which is to watch the most English speaking channels that I can. Wife wants to watch Eastenders (BBC1)(BBC 1 midlands west is the most accessible until 18:00hrs) BBC1, has moved transponders recently to weaker transponders. The HD channels are very strong. Is there a STB with USB stick recording (PVR) available?

    2) We have terrestrial digi TV available here, but some have English audio available. We are PAL and 240v, but there?s probably more to using an English Digi-STB here in Spain. So which Digi Terrestrial STB with PVR would be a good deal for me to use here in Spain?

    Many thanks in advance.

    1) ideally you need a linux box like the vu+ that can run oscam for the card , and one that ideally takes a hdd like the DUO to give you the equivalent of sly plus HD , and a LAN in case "other options" are open to you for more channels

most boxes allow recording to a usb stick or usb hdd , but the epg systems are not as good as the sly plus , thats for sure

most of the usual HD channels are fta over here , only c5HD needs that expired card

I suppose other options are dreambox , spiderbox , blade , eagle , preferably the HD versions , and all should do pvr recording as well as divx playback

    2) I didnt think a uk digital terrestrial receiver would work on your freeview system , but best place to ask is avf*rums as they have sections for it , or else use a dvd recorder with scart or phono connection from a sat box or from a spanish dtt freeview box

I use a sony hxd870 dvd recorder in the uk , which is fine on our system , you might need to add an external dtt tuner box though

    hope that helps
