newbie here have problem with satelite please help

hi all i am in need of some advice, i am living in kent, england. in a rented 2 bed flat because it is a flat we share a communal dish and in the living room i have a Screened Quadplexed Module with 2 male connections for sat, 1 for tv and 1 for radio. At the moment we have 2 free sat boxes 1 in living room and 1 in bedroom i am getting a freesat hd recorder. now i know i need to to connections to be able to pause and rewind live tv, but because i only have 2 connections coming in i dont want to loose free sat in bedroom, so can i use a 2-Way Splitter with Power Pass All Ports on one cable have 1 go to freesat recorder in living room and the other cable from spliter to bedroom then use the other connection from the Screened Quadplexed Module to free sat recorder. if not can you please post any suggestions thanks.

Don't any of your 2 sat boxes have a loopthrough connector in them, if so connect it that way.

no , cant be done as strictly speaking you need one coax feed for each tuner , and splitting a feed wont help as the main feed will tie the lnb up to a certain extent

I dont want to go into the technicalities of this too much , but if the main receiver is tying the lnb feed ( sat feed ) to say bbc1 , any split feed can get bbc1 and any other channels on that transponder , but nothing else

so the ideal is to have 3 or 4 coax feeds and you only have 2 coming in , so this ties the system down a lot and you wont be allowed to have more feeds from the communal system

the only other way is tie the main feed to one tuner only in the main room , and have the other feeding the bedroom , but then you cannot record 2 channels at once, or watch one channel and record another

some flats only have one feed so to have two feeds is a bonus in itself
