to make the most of satellite i would get something linux based dreambox would be your best bet


?400 is an ample budget to get you started you could get a box and decent size dish for around ?150


i would however recommend that you try and spend as much as you can afford and get yourself a hd sat receiver such as the dm 800 as there is so much stuff on sat in hd
