The Dutch TV provider Canal Digital - owned by the Luxembourg Group SA M7 - this morning began its anti-card measures. A spokesman for M7 Group SA has confirmed this to Total TV.
A few weeks ago, anti-card her actions even at the M7 Group SA Belgian television providers and TV Vlaanderen T?l?Sat started. M7 Group SA is the first company in Europe to the newest form of technology applied its anti-card. In the coming months other European TV providers split the anti-card technology - as it is officially known - will introduce. The new encryption technology is not bound. This means that TV providers other than the coding techniques used by M7 Group SA Mediaguard3 use this anti-split card technology to apply.

The introduction of new measures against large-scale cardsharing can today with a smart control only four clients. Canal Digital to users of certified equipment, this means that with four satellite receivers at once fully effective - including recording of TV programs - can use. For non-certified equipment - that is mainly known as Linux satellite receivers from brands like Dreambox, Clark Tech and VU + - include programs as an additional client count and can result in the recording of programs less satellite receiver with a smart control.

It should also be using a Linux satellite receiver to take into account that the smart card has the latest firmware should have up to four clients can control. This is not the case, one can use a smart control only two clients. Those who have a certified satellite receiver does not have to worry about is because the smart card in recent weeks, in a good way for the latest card firmware I4A features. More information about the technical background of the anti-card her actions and updating the smart card into the card I4A version can be read here .

Cardsharing - sharing the smartcard and the associated subscription - is TV providers for some time an eyesore. This is mainly because in many cases the in-house smart card is not internally but also externally via the Internet through commercial servers and charges to satellite viewers is delivered. TV providers, thereby running against large losses in revenue. M7 Group SA has for some time very active in identifying its commercial card servers. A spokesman for M7 Group SA has confirmed to Total TV alone in the last week by the special team of card-share M7 Group SA more than 100 servers have been uncovered. The smart cards are used by M7 Group SA and locked against the owners of these smart cards is reported to the police. It also discovered information with other European TV providers shared. Against owners of smart cards and servers is also a civil process initiated to recover lost revenue. M7 Group SA says that these actions even after the introduction of new measures against cardsharing continue.

Exactly since I have been in the sat game I have lost cound of the amount of threats or threads to get you paranoid.

Ok Canal will be going down but for how long?

Also will it effect other sats right away no. Will 28.2E be next.... very much doubt it.

So anyone paranoid take deep breaths and tell yourself its all going to be ok .

If it ever does come to a end, then there will be another solution.

N*va implemented something similar last year but it is still works under cs. However some providers like osn, total tv and ad sports implemented anti cs measures that never got broken.

n*va still work yes, but it breaks a lot and limit number of ecm that the card give. The only way they can get rid of CS is to introduce IP boxes without a smart card. As long as a card is issued then it will be shared
