I will second or third that. That Russia server does not like blade boxes, had exactly the same problems!

Problem solved, the russian server is NOT compatible with the blade !!!! Had a mod reply to me and confirm this.

Anyone want a months free use ? (err, if you dont have a blade !)

          welllll.......

          im still stuffed.

ive tried 3 different servers now and still have the same issue with all of them. i still have to reset the ip even though everything else works.

Can someone confirm for me how to set the ip of this box?

          1. either set it in the router as a static route reserving the ip for that mac address. then you leave the dhcp 'on' in the blade and it should pick it up or........

          2. turn off dhcp and set it to a ip that you know wont be used so theres no conflict.

weird that it says connected but doesnt descram unless ya reset the network.

On the 9991 menu try changing the timeout value to zero. See if that helps.

it could be because the blade runs an old cccam and some servers have banned old cccams as they have been hacked ive ive asked my supplier to contact blade support to ask for an updated cam ,recently one well know server banned all cams older than 3.1 (i think it was ) and blades and tm5400hd could not connect he reveresed the ban meantime so hope blade update cccam soon

If you have a modem as well as your router, try plugging directly into that...then disable / reenable DCHP on the blade, this will force the modem to rewrite the ip settings... this will eliminate the routers settings (if that IS what's causing your problems)

On a more alarming note...I've heard a rumour that there is a batch of blades issued around Nov 2011 with network problems...personally I doubt this.
Can anyone confirm or deny this ?

I got a Virmin Superhub but it also happens on on the BT Homehub.

I turned the Virmin into a simple moden and used my own router which is a wgr614. I also tried with the virmin as a router also

Oddly enough I heard that Blades dont get on with Netgear routers if you were using 122p firmware or newer and all those just mentioned are made by netgear.

Its as if port 80 is automatically open for the blade online stuff but the port number for theserver has to be asked to open by resetting the ip as a new request

On saying that I went the whole hog and set the blade to be my DMZ so theres complete free access but it still makes no odds.

I also tried on a friends router - which is also netgear and that wont have it either.

I still cant find the forum that said there was a bad batch that i mentioned. Ill have another look later on...

my blade works fine using the latest patch on my netgear and always has worked ok (for over a year now)

and mine is on fixed ip with lan settings sorted out in the netgear admin panel , as is usual with netgears

dont believe all you hear , only trust what you know for yourself or what others actually do , not what anyone reads

my lad runs one on a vermin netgear router , and that works ok too (I believe his uses dhcp and not a static ip)

I had a similar problem with vm looks like they are now blocking some of the ports. Port 12000 in my case

Try a net service like "shields up" to PROVE that a port is blocked or not.

tried the port number at sheilds up and it comes back as closed.............

forgot to say there no firewall running for this test

and the weirdest thing is that i can use a dreambox fine on all of my set ups but it the blade having problems
