you can use the tv link , global plus , bluedelta blaster , or the one from m@plins at about ?30

providing they send power to the eye and it lights up the red led , you can use the remote to aim at the eye , the signal goes up the coax to the blaster unit and it is aimed at the front of the box you are controlling ( any box )

I thought by using the mercury rf modulator i was already sending power up the cable and all i needed to do was connect some sort of digieye???

I have no idea what the mercury rf modulator is , but generally speaking all they do is convert from scart or phono to rf so you can send over coax and tune the analogue tuner in on a tv

now if they also could power an eye , accept signals from the eye and blast infrared at your box , that is some gadget for not a lot of money

ps:- just looked them up on fleabay and seems to be just an rf modulator to me , nothing to do with magic eyes or infrared blasting
