blade 7000s trouble (possibly tuner fault?)

    hi there.
i've got a blade 7000s. it was going perfect and i can have no complaints up to a few weeks ago

when i switch the blade on, from cold (say overnight) it runs fine on any channel. but after a while (say 30mins) the picture starts to break up and i get 'no or bad signal'. this happens on most of the hd channels, particularly the ones with a V polarization

i check the signal in the channel install menu and it hasn't fluctuated from when it was perfect.

it gradually gets worse the longer the box stays on....and after an hr or so i cannot watch 99% of the hd channels. it is not my dish as i have a sly box hooked up and it performs perfect. its not the cable or lnb either.

sorry i've just checked again, and when its been on for a while, if i go to signal quality it is bouncing up and down from 23-80%

when cold its 80% or thereabouts

Check the cable. Mine did that when the f type screw connected came slightly loose on the receiver. Try tighten it up a bit with a spanner

        yep i've done that.
sorry i think i've found the problem. sky is also hooked up to the lnb. when sky is on this is the only time that the quality bounces.
i'm thinking faulty quad lnb....or i've got a spare lnb and a spare old style dish still mounted so i'm going to try connecting to that

sorted. changed the lnb and the bouncing when sky was on disappeared

I was going to suggest that until you ruled it out in the first post LOL

glad you sorted it and glad my first hunch was correct

cheap as chips on fleabay so always worth changing the lnb
