So I think I might have screwed things up

I have been playing with Dreamset tuner on my motorised dish, trying to get a signal on my satellite after everything went dark here in Bulgaria for a few days, but I am not having much success.

Now I don't even get Euronews.

It says I have a SNR of 60 and an AGC of 75, but nothing at all comes up on the telly.

I think I may have moved the dish with the tuner software, and its gone away from the satellite, and I don't know how to get it back. The signals being recieved may not even be from 28.2 (is that possible?)

    I have a DM500-s and a recent Pli release.

There is a piece of logic that escapes me, when these things are set up. If you know your Lat/Long, and you input that into the system, how then does the system know where 'it' is located on scale of positions available in the motorised arc?

I want to go back to the page where you input your Lat/Lon, but I can't seem to find it (without having to go back to Factory Reset).

Can someone give me some pointers on fine tuning your satellite from step 1?

    Cheers,

    Adrian

ok, so I have found the Lat/Lon on the rotor setup page. For some reason it was displaying zero's, not sure how that could have happenned...

          yer, thanks guys.

I think the dreamset software might have reset my stored satellite locations as well as my Lat/Lon details.

I checked the DM500 threads, and nothing about how to reset or find satellites for a motorised dish jumped out at me.

            Got it!

I reset my Lat/Lon, then used the dreambox software to manually adjust the satellite a few steps at a time until I started to receive a station in the background.

I used the transponder recommended as the best for SkyUK and the channel -

            Eurobird-1 ::::::::28.5 east 11224V -------27500 Movies for Men

Until the channel was in reception in the background. I then saved the location in my rotor, and all is goodness.

What better thing to waste a saturday on! :-)

You were probably picking up 19 east or 13 east which have almost similar transponders to 28. These would give you good readings but no picture.

That might have been it! When you really stuff something up, it really aids the learning process!
