re,sky anytime+

    re,sky anytime+

    hi guys, ok this is the prob i av, just moved from vermin to sly now i need to get sky anytime+ goin, the thing is the router is in my bedroom because thats were my tower comp is but my main tv and sky hd box are down stairs is there anyway of gettin the antime+ goin without slinging a rj cable all the way from my room to the box down stairs. cheers guys..

    use a pair of homeplugs

      or you could use one of the Vonets or tenda wi-fi adaptors which are cheap enough, I know sky will try and charge you around ?65 for the official one. or you could try and blag one for free worth a try

        thanks for the reply,s guys i will give them some thought,
        was thinking wot if i bought a second hand sly router off the bay hooked it up to the phone line exstention down stairs earthanet cable from that router into hd box, would that not work??. cheers.chris..

          you cannot have 2 routers on the same phone line

          you may be able to use the second router as a wireless adapter, but thats a pc or broadband hardware issue and nothing to do with satellite

          the homeplugs or wifi adapter are the correct alternatives to a cat5 cable

            ok thanks for all ur help guys on this prob, looks like its a rj45 cable slung from router upstairs to box down staires, (allways the hard way) ..cheers.chris..

              correct me if im wrong but i thought u had to have sky broadband to receive anytime + i think u just get regular anytime with virgin or any other isp ........

                It's being made available to any broadband supplier from march onwards so you do not need to have Sky Broadband to access it

                Sky Anytime+ goes from strength to strength with more content and increased reach

                    Hi it might be worth trying to get a anytime + wireless adaptor for nothing from them I did when the service first came out, all it took was a few phone calls.
