    Sat or Cable HD?

    Hi Guys and Dolls,

I haven't been on here for time, I had a Starview that kept me busy until they expired. I wanted some input, but I haven't really got time to read through other threads sorry due to young kids

I have 200 to spend on a cable or sat?? I know there's subscriptions too. But I want HD? Will I be able to get the F1 channel also when it comes out?

I'm on Virgin at the moment and have a Sky mini dish outside

it will have to be satellite , plenty of HD boxes to choose from , then you sort out your own cs

Use your existing sly dish with all of the boxes around today , that's if you are only wanting sly uk tv. I've got dreambox's myself and they're great, a bit of learning to be done to get the box up and running but everything you need to know is right here on this forum.

Dm800hd and dm500hd and the newest ones dm800hd se and dm800hd pro are probably the most popular, DHGATE are selling clones of them at good prices , and they do the same job as the real things, shop around ,there's loads of sites selling them .There is cheaper boxes like the openbox for around ?60 .

I've got vm broadband mate, a lot of people say to stay away from sky broadband but I haven't heard anything about vm.

Doesnt have to be a BT line,Just connect dreambox to router for any broadband network connection , I use home plugs myself as my router is upstairs. We have BT in northern Ireland too you know as we are part of Great Britain.

ANY broadband will do the job , even a wifi dongle, although a proper wired vm broadband or adsl type bt type broadband would be better, with a router at your end for easy conenction to boxes, pc or laptops etc
