BLADE 7000s not recognising ext. hdd.

Hi, I have a Blade 7000s box. I have just purchased an Iomega Prestige 1tb desktop hard drive. I appear to have formatted it with FAT32 which I thought was correct. When i plug it in to the USB on the blade box and go into Utilities and Disk Manager it's not recognised. Am I missing something? Please help.

    Hello

did you download and install the fat32format utility on to your hard drive before you formated your drive with the blade

you can download it from the blade site here is the guide

How to Format a USB HDD
For all USB HDD?s less than 30GB:
    1. Connect the hard disc via USB to your PC
    2. Right click (with the mouse) on My Computer (found on the Desktop)
    3. Go to Manage
    4. Go to Disk Management
    5. Right click on the USB drive
    6. Click on Delete Partition and follow the procedures
    7. When this has finished, a new drive will appear. Select the drive with the
largest file size and Right click on it. 8. Go to Make a New Partition (it has to be primary). Do not format it.
    9. Right click on the USB drive and set the partition as Active
    10. When this has finished, connect your
    Format Disk and press OK
For all USB HDD?s more than 30GB:
DO NOT FORMAT THE HDD IN TH
    1. Connect the hard disc via USB to your PC
    2. Right click (with the mouse) on My Computer (found on the Desktop)
    3. Go to Manage
    4. Go to Disk Management
    5. Right click on the USB drive
    6. Click on Delete Partition and follow the procedures
    7. When this has finished, a new drive will appear. Select the drive with the
largest file size and Right click on it. 8. Go to Make a New Partition (it has to be Primary). Assign a drive letter, for
    example, f:
    9. Select: Do not Format this Partition and follow the procedures
    10. Right click on the USB drive and set the partition as Active
    11. Copy the attached fat32format.exe file to your C: Drive, found in: My
    Computer > C:
    12. Go to Start > Run > enter CMD > OK
    13. Enter: cd c:\
    14. Enter: fat32format f: (if you used f: in step 8, if not, enter the drive letter you
    used)
    15. The following message will appear: Warning ALL data on drive 'f' will be lost
    irretrievably, are you sure (y/n)
    16. Enter: y
    17. Wait until it says Done
    18. When this has finished, connect your USB drive to the Blade HD Receiver,
and go to Menu > USB > Management >
    Format Disk and press OK
    19. Do not use the Management menu found in the USB Menu of the receiver
NB: The receiver (like most PVR's) only sees one partition on very large drives
(eg. 30gig and above), so must be formatted with with only one partition.
We recommend the program LINKFORMATTER (it is free, google for linkformatter.zip)
to format very large hard drives. This program forces the whole HDD to format
    into one partition on FAT32.

    hope this helps

Thanks guys but already tried these and no joy.

nsw9154 It comes up with an error message about can't format more than x amount of space. All links to linkformatter seem to be disabled or invalid.

potrobber Sorry but as is doesn't detect any usb device it will not allow format in the utilities menu.

This version of fat32format only supports hard disks with 512 bytes per sector.
