    Fixed or motorised?

At the moment I have a fixed dish with a DM800 HD, which works perfectly, am starting to get itchy feet about a motorised system and was wondering if any of you guys could advise me ie is it worth getting one....

depends on your location and the arc you can get from your location, it also depends on your cs too

so if you can motorise and get the satellites between 42 east and 30 west, passing through thor , then OF COURSE its worth motorising

there are cheap all in one pack motorised systems available but are these the best IMHO no you may either get a good dish and crap LNB and motor or Good motor and LNB and crap dish.

The best way is ask yourself do you want to pickup the most popular sats available that can be got at with a 70-80cm dish or do you want to have say maybe a play now and again to actually see if you can pick up feeds or even some of the more obscure and weaker channels and sats like 26? east and 7.2? west or even the night time only Nilesats at 7? west.

if your after a standard H-H motor then i would recommend either 1st choice Superior or supreme Dark Motor 2nd TM2600 both metal geared motors there are others available but most are motek clones where as the dark motor is a clone of the Clark tech H-H metal gear.

Dishes well we have the most popular Triax, Orbital, Gibertini, ISS, technomate etc.. probably most popular and very good is the Triax range from 54cm up to 1.1.m.

LNB there is probably only one and thats the Inverto Black ultra tried and tested by many members on here and comes out on top all the time.

So although you may pay less for an all in one motorised system pack it really is worth it to shop around and buy the best you can afford now and hopefully should see you right for many years to come.

Always more options with motorised so its a better option all round imo

The technomate is pretty much what it is for ?35 and thats why its that price, I only named the popular makes the top 3 brands would be 1. Channel Master 2. Gibertini 3. Triax the rest are ok if your on a budget and i just mean OK the 3 i mentioned will wipe the floor with your ISS, Technomate, CDTronix etc....
