    vu+ solo or blade 7000 or a.n.other?

Hello everyone. Complete newbie looking to get my first sat box.
My question is, which one. I want to use it for that thing we can't discuss, and want a box that is easy to run and get accustomed to.
Narrowed it down to blade 7000, which i believe is the easiest box.to master. Or the vu+ solo, which apparently is more difficult to master, but is better for the thing we can't discuss.
    Is this correct?
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks everyone

depends if you want to "send" out , or just "receive"

any box with ethernet and suitable patches will receive , including the blade and vu

the blade is a box you patch and can only "receive" , cannot "send) , and is a single tuner box

the vu+ is a linux based box , and can "send" as well as "receive" (as can the spiderbox and almost any other linux based box)

linux is obviously more complicated than bespoke but has more options

I just want to receive. Only going to be used to receive, watch telly, record telly and drive dish motor. I have a home theatre pc for music, youtube, etc.
Just looking for a straight forward box to receive and record really.
      Thx

Oh and also decent epg, series link if possible.
Does the vu solo have more receiving options?

any linux box has more versatility as its dependent on images and plugins and softcams , so will always have various options others wont

epg is an issue that deserves its own forum , and there are various methods of getting epg on certain boxes , linux boxes tend to use plugins for this and download off the net , as for series link , you are having a laugh, its the holy grail to get a box with 7 day epg with series link that works in a similar way to a sly plus box

great in theory , but always seems to be a let down in practice

blade isnt bad for epg but its a diy job on an update channel

linux boxes tend to use crossepg or a similar type of plugin

most other boxes fail on the epg side completely

I would look at the vu+ or the clarketech ET slimline myself , or for a simple box get the blade bm700s , but dont expect sly plus standards

TM5402 which is same as blade has 7 day epg on 28.2e, has to be done on update channel and takes less than a minute.

some boxes may limit you to watch and record same channel,a twin tuner like a vu+duo you can set up multiple recordings, duo can have an internal hard drive,on the solo only external,
