Was down today and still no luck. Channel 68 is what sky is using when I use the sky digibox.

Now Ive just realised that the tv aerial feed is not coming from roof aerial coax. It is just plugged into the tv and going to sky digibox. Is the the way its supposed to be.

I thought you extended roof aerial coax down to aerial port on sky box. Then you rf from sky box to splitter box...

When I set the sky box up, setup only works when one coax is in rf1 and other coax is in rf2, nothing in aerial port.

if a loopthrough is required from the rooftop aerial , then it goes from that aerial into the sly box input , rf1 goes to the local tv to deliver analogue and digital channels , and rf2 goes to the remote tv to deliver analogue and digital channels as well , and sometimes rf2 has the power enabled to feed a magic eye in order to remotely access the sly box from the remote location, like a bedroom

that is how my lad has it setup

in my area analogue has been switched off so the only analoge channel delivered is rf68 from the sly box , or in my lads case it was changed to rf40 to avoid clashing with our local freeview transponders which are in the higher part of 21-69 so we avoid rf68

some people use rf21 like the previous reply , depends on the local tv transmitter

now if the householder does not want channels from his aerial on his tv , just the through the sly box , then you would connect the outside aerial down to the sly box rf input

or if you dont require the analogue channel you may not connect the rf coaxial cables to the slybox or through the sly box at all

so it depends what the owner wants as to how its all connected up

most people dont require rf channels to bedrooms and so just have the slybox using hdmi to the local tv only , in which case the outside aerial may go direct to the tv or through a freeview pvr or dvd recorder first, before ending up at the tv, but not through the sly box

complicated I know , but you just cable in what the owner requires

Many thanks, my friend wants sky in every room. Dont think hes too bothered about having 1,2 3 & 4.

Still at a loss on how to get this setup for him.

I either have good picture on main tv with bad picture in rest of rooms or good picture in rest of rooms and bad picture on main tv depending on where I plug in coax cable coming from uhf port on splitter box

Im also at a loss on where the roof aerial coax is going, it comes down through roof then it is being fed through a piece of conduit down into the house but I have no idea where its going to. Ive checked behind main tv and its defo not there.

My thoughts are if I just extend the roof aerial coax down to the aerial in port of rf modulator and have the coax coming from uhf port of splitter box to rf port on rf modulator then sky will be perfect in every room, as will the analogue channels.

I also pressed services, 4, 0, 1 and got no rf settings, when you press 4 in goes into setup then there are only options 1-8 and pressing 0 does nothing, 1 is for picture settings and it shows nothing about rf

Hi there mate if ive read it right you are using 68, if so thats an anologue channel for the tg4 down south maybe thats interferring with the signal you are best picking a channel like 41 , 42 ,43 etc away from other anologue channels. so if your mates got an rte aerial up thats where the interference could be comming from.

a quick search on google found this info on digital spy

you will also find the secret 'Installer Menu' (to change the default transponder whilst abroad for Astra) has changed:

              Old method:
Installer setup - Not listed on the Sky Guide Menu
To access the Installer setup, do the following:
1 Press Services on your Sky remote.
              2 Press 4 (System Setup).
              3 Press 0
              4 Press 1
              5 Press Select

              New Method:
1 Press Services on your Sky remote.
              2 Press 0
              3 Press 0
              4 Press 1

I am aware there is a decrease in quality but this is complete snow, just a vague picture coming through...

Any thoughts guy, tomorrow will be my last attempt to get this going otherwise prob wont get paid.

I have got a lend of a couple of 20m coax cables to run from loft down the stairs just to test it.

Now from the aerial port of the rf modulator that should run to the roof aerial coax and the other port of rf modulator should run to uhf port of splitter box.

                        Is this correct...?
