    multi lnb ...

hi, need help setting up my new setup, i have a sky zone 2 dish and want to set it up for 28e, 19e and 13e. dish is positioned at 28e now, wot i need is multi lnb holder to grab 2 more lnb's and diseqc switch. my question is, wud it b ok to go with a normal 40mm size linb's for 13e and 19e or shud i go with the inverto slim line lnb's for them, wot u guys say bout it?

as its a zone 2 sky 60cm dish, so need to know if normal 40mm size lnb's r good to go ?

Yeah they are fine ive just set one up for 39 east 28 east and 19 east. you could just use your quad lnb for 28 east and the two slimline ones for 19 and 13 as they are quite close to each other.

thanks for the quick reply mate, i actually have to order the 2 lnb's so need to b sure if normal 40mm size lnb's wont b good enough for 13e and 19e, so u think i shud go for slimline's or 40mm shud b enough?

depends where you are but in general they are too small unless you lengthen the lnb arm , so you would be better using an 80cm dish , or a second dish on 13e and 19e leaving the zone 2 on 28.2e

m in sheffield, i dont know how can i lengthen the lnb arm, thats y slimline lnb's looks to me another option to go with, dont u think slimline wud fix nicely for 13e and 19e on zone 2 dish?

i cant put on another dish at my place so have to do with the one i have got at the moment mate

You could put a monoblock on for 19 and 13 and have your prime focus on 28 east. That might be the way to go for yourself. ps if you need any advice on diseqc switch i haven,t got a clue .

i thought of that as well but i m not sure if diseqc switch is going to work with the monoblock lnb coz monoblock also have a built in swtich and i dont know if my dm7020s box going to accept the monoblock in diseqc swtich. if i can use a monoblock lnb in diseqc switch with 28e , nothing wud b better than that. but is there anyone who cud confirm that i can use monoblock lnb with diseqc switch ?

the 40mm may fit next to each other ok , but the problem is focussing the dish with all 3 lnb,s on it, and I found you have to swap the lnb arm for a longer one to do this, not easy as you need the exact shape and size of the hollow metal bar , but longer and then use metalworking tools like drills, files and suchlike to make it fit properly

an 80cm dish has a longer lnb arm to make this adjustment , same as a monoblock lnb is designed for an 80cm round dish and not a 59cm oval dish

so a typical dish for this would be the triax 80cm dish with a triax adjustable lnb rack focussed on hotbird, or a gilbertini, or a wavefrontier

so its not just about using standard or slimline lnb,s, but their distance from the dish face too

just done the setup and all perfect, used 4 way DISEqC switch and 3 lnb's, not the monoblock

dont think if there would b any problem, looks solid , and getting very strong signals on 28e, bit weak on 13e as compared to 28e but still getting almost everything on there as well, 19e also perfect as dish is aligned on there. hope all goes well in strong weather conditions

I used the same bracket give the clasp a squeeze in the middle one and yo should be able to get the bolt thru it and it will be more stable mate.

tried it but no luck, have put 2 drops of glu at both top ends of that middle lnb holder and 2 nut bolts at the bottom of the holder will b doing the rest ... its now rock solid

                            Interesting guys!
Does anyone know the focal length in Zone 2 dishes (Raven in particular)?
I want to attach 2nd LNB which is 4.5-5 degrees from the central LNB.
                            Thank you!

i dont think u will have a chance for that on zone 2 dish even with the slimline lnb, i also have zone 2 and was having difficulty in managing 6 degree between 19e and 13e. u need a bigger dish for that
