Satellite Newbie Question (again i know)

    Hi All,

I have been a member on here for a while now and was a regular during the pre nagra 3 cough virgin era, I had a Dreambox 800HD and also had a few other I couldnt remember their names right now.

I am thinking of going satellite now nothing too fancy, All Sly channels will do not interested in european channels etc HD and PVR is all I want.

Can someone just point me in the direction of the best option available.

    Thanks in advance.

Buy a sat tuner for your 800 if you have a sky dish then your ok if not they're pennies to pick up. Put an up to date image on your box and put a sub line in it. Not allowed to discuss here but google cccam and you will get the info.

It's ok for a basic starter box only thing you need to be careful of is getting a bad clone so have a browse around the site there is information on sellers and identifying clones. It's easy to setup for the other stuff to same as before google setting up cccam on openbox something like that will give you answers.

Thanks once again, but in your experience what box would you recommend that would require minimum configuration and ongoing maintenance

Yeh blade or Tm5402 but I think your on the right lines with the openbox it's cheap and easy to set up so if it's not for you then you haven't lost much. And although there is good info out there for the Blade there is loads for the openbox, the choice is really down to you pocket

I would also consider a new contender that has been available for a while but is just started to make a bit of a ripple here and thats the Ferguson Arriva 102HD around the same price of an openbox but is guaranteed not to be a clone.

Not a bad little starter box and can run most softcams.

Remember some peeps cribbing about freeze issues running ccam on the 120, havent heard much lately about it though.
My mate def had problems with 2 that he bought and he is no beginner to the sat scene.
                    Just a word of warning!!!

Have a vu+ duo but an expensive unit to be starting out on sat for ya but if you have the twine they are worth it!!
                    Whatever!!
