my triax td110 has been up for over 8 years, not cheap but not flimsy either
1 year is nothing in this game
buy one decent dish and thats all you buy - one dish
I tend to agree with those who say buy quality, not cheap as chips , and the same applies to motors , but a metal geared one not those cheap ones with plastic gears
if buying cheap was so good , we would all be driving around in those new dirt cheap tata cars, but I will pass thanks
cheapskates will buy cheap , but are skating on thin ice

IMHO... on the strong birds at 28e/19e/13e/5w/30w you wouldnt notice any real difference but as soon as you start trying to recieve the out of footprint birds at 5e(nordic)4w/7w ect you will notice the difference in quality/recieved gain/carrier-to-noise, .. also a well made dish like the triax td range , a gibby or a andrews will last 10 years or more when the cheap crap dishes are rusting after 12 months. regards mdtDM800HDSE SIM 2.10. Hi There
I install loads of dishes and have done for over 15 years, Triax dishes are great value, well built and superb gain. A Triax 88cm works better than a Orbital 1.1 and that's measured using a Spectrum Analyser.
Hope the info helps.
Thanks
JB

Strange Orbital dont make a 1.1m Triax do and i can tell you now a Gibby 1m beats the Triax 1.1m and for the price will probably last 10 years longer than the triax

the orbital 1m dish is listed as being 1.1m high and 95cm wide so in reality it is 1.025 meters, the triax 1.1 dish is 115cm high and 110cm wide so is 1.125 meters. the td88 is listed as having 38.8db gain and the orbital 1m as 39.8db at 11.7ghz using a lnb with a average nf of 0.7db although these figures have to be taken with a pinch of salt as there are variables of weather/lnb type used/surrounding interference ect. regards mdtDM800HDSE SIM 2.10. I agree with MDT about the dimensions and anyway hes got that many it should take him 2 minutes to go and get a tape measure and get the correct dimension LOL.
I would take the Gain of each dish with a pinch of salt as in the real world a Gibby 1m fitted with a Black Ultra and which is quoted as having slightly less gain than the triax 1.1m actually in real world measurements beats it.
And thats for our friend with the Spectrum analyser i did the same measurements.
