help 1m motorised dish set up

followed the guides cant seem to sort it, i had the dish set up before with my 7025, but didnt use it for 4-5 months, bought a dm 8000 wanted to use the motorised set up, but once i checked it wasnt aligned, so i had a go at setting it up, but the stab h-h mount was making a clicking & whirring noise, wouldnt move dish so bought a new technomate h-h mount spent all day saturday & sunday trying to align it, best result i had was 62% on thor but everytime i moved dish to 28.2 E or 30W no signal, is the dm 8000 a bit buggy with software for motorised dish or has anyone got any pointers with what to try next i live in east lancs if anyone fancies a look thanks steve

is your pole 100% straight in evvery direction?? the slightest bit off and its knocks it out further along the arc.

you could also check your skew....when the dish is set to thor you lnb should near enough straight...twist it very slightly to get best signal, also try adjusting your dish elevation

a to thor 1west...loosen the top bolts and get a spirit level....tape it to the pole and check if its straight(100% vertical), if not nudge it with your palm and tighten up again at 100% even if you have no signal...then loosen the lnb holder and turn that slowly both ways and now you should definately get a signal....then Fine tuning your sat dish....try that

if you get a signal direct from the lnb and not when you
have the lnb cable directed thought the motor, it's a cable
or connection problem is the cable the correct way aroung on the motor or is there a short on the cable from the motor to the lnb ie:at the f connectors braid and inner cable shorting, also are your lnb settings correct in the receiver menu.

all coax in correct holes, will check rest of coax tomorrow, i have joined the coax middway thru my house, i used proper f connector joins, could that be a problem? got plenty of coax so will redo all of it cheaper fix, dont understand why the installers tehnomate was fine, he had meter at satellite end & receiver end, signal was full at both sides

I think the short run of wire from motor to lnb needs replacing...
