Using a monoblock lnb in a diseqc switch

I have read on a lot of forums that you couldnt use a monoblock in a diseqc switch as the monoblock already uses its own switch internally.

Finally i found a forum that said it was possible, and I tried it out and it works.

If this is common knowledge then i'm just telling u things u already know, but this may benefit people who didnt think it was possible.

The setup i was looking to combine into 1 single satellite output was:

    fixed dish at 28.2
fixed dish at 13 and 19.2 with monoblock

so the correct method of doing this is as follows:

    1. monoblock lnb feeds into the 'input' of a satellite or cable splitter (1 in, 2 out. must have dc pass on both sides)

2, Create 2 small patch satellite leads, connect each of them to the 2 'outputs' on the splitter.

    3. On ur diseqc switch connect the 2 outputs from the splitter to lnb1 and lnb2

    4. Connect 28.2 fixed lnb to lnb 3

    5. Connect patch cable from output of diseqc to satellite box.

      Hi
I have set it all up, but I can only get 2 sats to recieve. The monoblock has plit fine but cannot get any 28.2. If i put the cable from it straight into the box it works.
Has anyone got any ideas what is wrong? Also what order should the Diseqc ports be?
      Thanks

assuming ur 13 and 19.2 are in ports 1 and 2, then try 28.2 in either 3 or 4.

should work no problem as long as u adjust the correct settings on ur box to correspond

Yes 13 and 19 are in 1 and 2. I am putting bouquets on using Bouquet wizard and then selectin the ports on there.
I have put the 28 in number 1 and it works by itself but not in any of the others.
          Thanks

I think i have it now! On the bouquet wizard I put the Diseqc ports as 13=0 19=1 and 28=2. Where as before i didnt use the 0, just 1,2 and 3,

            Thanks for your help

Hi. Is there is any reason why you did not put a motor on your dish? You would have got a lot more sats and channels and probably cheaper as well. Regards.

Hi, well ive had an old dish up for about 10 years in which i had for old analogue satellite, then when it went digital I had a sky dish put up, but continued to use my old dish for german tv. I bought a monoblock a few months ago, so I only needed to run another cable from my sky dish and get a splitter and switch.
