    Video Sender

Is it possible to use a video sender with a vu+ duo, will it send hd with no loss of quality.

Ive always went down the rf router of extending signal but Ive moved into a new house and there is no tv point in the kitchen.

You would need an expensive HD video sender, standard ones are SD.
They will work from scart for sd.

Think I will just get a standard one. Any recommendations or are they all just the same?

If my vu+ duo is plugged into my main tv by hdmi, and I have scart video sender plugged in, will this still work and does tv have to be in main room to send to kitchen tv.

Not quite sure how these work..

you cannot send from the hdmi socket of any device as it requires a passive device to be connected , like a hd tv for instance

the main purpose of hdmi is hdcp ( copy protection ) and so it actively prevents the copying or streaming of hd content by design

a scart sends either RGB or composite and is SD in content

a standard video sender changes from composite or RGB to rf and so degrades the video even further under normal circumstances

the best you will achieve is RGB SD video

a HD tv is a passive device and so will accept hdmi and HD content from any other active device sending to it

basically they handshake over the hdmi , accept that the passive device is for viewing only and cannot be used for recording purposes etc and so it will display whatever is sent over the hdmi

so yes the tv will always display from the hdmi connected box

I am using a Nikkai 5ghz video sender for the last couple of years now with various receivers including vu+duo with no problems at all just plug the transmitter into vu duo and the receiver into the tv you want to send the picture to ie. kitchen bedroom etc.

Maplins do often have a good deal on their 5.8ghz video senders, i think they are ?39 at the moment.

I use a Xenta Wireless HD WHDI HDMI Transmitter Receiver. This sends HD over HDMI Wirelessly from my SKYHD box in the loft to my main TV in the livin' room. Had some initial problems getting it to connect but once I moved the transmitter so that it only had to go through 2 ceilings, no walls, everything worked 100% seamelessly. No loss of quality at all. 150 quid off ebay

I have recently got a 3d monitor with a spare hdmi input and am looking to find a video sender from a dm800se to this monitor which is in a different room and would want it to display in the 3d mode. I would not need to watch my main tv at the same time as it is not 3d.
I have at present a Nikkai 5.8 ghz sender to my tv in the kitchen but this is unsuitable as it uses a component to scart lead.(Works well on standard definition)
Any suggestions as to the best way to go?
