    New system

Good evening everyone i am canvassing some of the better qualified opinions.
I am planning a new system consisting of a motorised dish around a metre, but after an afternoon of internet troughing cant decide on a receiver?
The three that keep popping up are the Protek 9760hd,dreambox or technomate?
I would be very grateful for any unbiased opinions.
    Thankyou in anticipation.

Thanks for the reply maybe i should add that i am an electrician and all the cables are already run and setting the dish up holds no fear for me however during my troughing this afternoon i get the impression the dreambox takes some setting up?

been an electrican wont make it any easier
running the cables is the easy part
the dreambox is easy setup to once ya get stuck in
setting the dish up is tricky as it has to be bang on ya might catch 3 sats in a row then nothing but sure thats the joys of it but lots of tuts to read up on and lots here to help

well worth trying yourself as once you learn how to do it if the dish gets blown off course by the wind you can fix it yourself instead of paying someone to

ya thinking of a hd box?

I have had hd for a while with vm and i must say i have never been that impressed with it,people seem to make a lot of fuss about a very small increase in quality however yes i will be going hd .
I have been to see an aerial installer friend this morning and he did also impress how important it was to get the mounting equipment aligned.

One of the reasons i visited my friend this morning was to inspect his system,he has a spider and a motorised 80 cm dish and he gets shedloads of channels which is exactly what i am after.Looking through the forums the Protek updates automatically which attracts me v the dreambox which appears to take lots of setting up?

if its plug and play your after get either the spider or protek I"v got both and as you say the protek does update its bouquets automatically and the "gift" should be ongoing not just for 12mths.but is more expensive,if you buy from the right place the support is good.
