blade 7000s connection problem

hi guys bought a blade 2 weeks ago flashed latest firmware
and has been running great until yesterday.
youtube worked great for 2 weeks and now lets me connect to site but does not let me play any files'
i have only been using test lines and now can not connect to any tests.
i have noticed that my ip settings have changed and think i may have a blocked port does anybody know how to fix this problem any help very much appreciated

reboot the router and check in the admin panel that all is as it should be

then check the blade has a valid ip address , and I personally would set the blade to a fixed ip address well away from the starter address
(you should have 254 IP addresses to choose from)

Plug directly into your modem (if this is seperate) and prove the box is ok.
Failing that, go into the router settings and put the blade into the "DMZ"...this puts it outside the firewall !

hi there.i seem to have the same problem,but my line wont work.ive had 2 tests but i cant get them to connect from the blade box,status says disconnected but blade online service works.does that mean i have to open a port on the router then or could it be the satbox.tried it on black panther 2card and the same with that,looks like im going to be busy sorting these out.any advise please,cant have more door stops.thanks for reading this.

no you dont open any ports just to receive

just ensure the boxes have valid ip addresses from the router

if blade online works , then the 9991 menu will work with valid c or n lines

you must ensure the lines are put in correctly , the host , port , name ID and password have to be exactly right

if they still dont work they are probably useless lines , especially if 2 boxes fail

free lines are all useless and a waste of time

thanks for ramjet,you got thinking and i went and found a good blade forum.it showed detail set up and ive realise there was no ip address sent to me or do i us mine.i no were i went wrong,i have id,pass,port but no address.so it looks like shall pm them and go from there.a big thank you mate.

works a treat now i have put the blade ip direct in to DMZ
i have never had to do this with other stbs.....strange

i did not have to use DMZ.Got new line and every thing works well for last four days.I also found out 9992 has all the cam settings,happy days here.
