New box supposed to be legal to show footy !

Been doing some browsing and apparently there is a new box / add-on about to hit the market.....Its called a ACID x box and its electronically detects the Premier league logo etc, and applies a patch over it.... Looks good, although i am not sure it will be legal...

yes, i recon this is more for those pubs etc, who run original viasat boxes etc....Most landlords want the easy life, and linux boxes are too much for them....
p.s just looked on my Solo, whats the called ?

Does clear the logo away completely?. If not then there is no point your replacing 1 logo with another.

The plugin lets you move a black square where ever you want on screen.

                  Pointless !

The removal of a logo does not magically make something copyright free, especially when its patently obvious that there's meant to be a logo present. Whilst this may keep a few shyster lawyers in caviar for a month or two its pretty obvious that the copyright infringement is actually worse as trying to remove logo's etc shows intent to knowingly defraud !

As it was the Logo (rather than the live soccer) that was deemed to be copywrite by the EU court, it shows an attempt to not display the copywrite material

Apparently the new boxes will have other advertising covering the PL badges by sponsorship. They get the new graphics send online from a unknown source, and the box automatically put the new adverts over the PL badges etc. Its all done in real time, and it does look like some considerable effort has gone into it. But i guess there is nothing stopping some foreign suppliers knocking out modified STB's and then directly advertising their own products on the box you have just purchased off them ? I suppose a pub / hotel chain could use the service to advertise its special offers about rooms / meals etc

Often seen a pint of beer in the corner of some pubs and sometimes its full and other times empty.
Is this to prove they are paying top notch for Sky?
