which boxes work with technomate motor!

Hi

I have tried a dm800hd clone and now a Openbox S11 with my technomate motorised dish (80cm) neither worked. The dm800 kept crashing and the Openbox reboots when I change satellite.

I have ordered a power inserter for my openbox based on feedback - do you think this will work?

If it doesn't I wanted to ask what receivers will work with my motor or is it better to get a new motorised dish?

problem is dish is chimney mounted and I can't climb that high. Origianlly dish worked with a globalstar 1100 reciver.

Any help would be appreciated

Should work with it no problem, The TM range are fully USALS/Diseqc certified so unless you have a problem somewhere else then i dont see any reason for it not to work

I have my dm800 hooked up to a TM motor works fine had blade media 7000 running it aswel for a few months. Might be worth checking your cables.

All the boxes i have had or flashed for other people have worked ok with my Technomate 2300 motor.... These boxes include original dreambox dm500s, clone dreambox dm800s, technomate tm600, spiderbox hd7000, extrend 5000, GGGbox, Vu solo... Hope this helps

correct me if im wrong m8 but as far as i know the stab motor is the only "true" usals motor and all the rest be it.. technomate,darkmotor ect are diseqc 1.3/go-to-x as they dont/wont pay for the licence to use the usals name. all this being said the technomate/darkmotor motors do work fine with most boxs although the spiderbox,starview ect dont drive the motor smoothly as it moves in small amounts. regards mdt

Quite right its the Technomate receivers which are Certified STAB USALS and the Motor just use the Diseqc 1.2/1.3 logo

Hi. TM2600 motors work brilliantly on TM5400 boxes - in 3 years not one complaint. I personally would never advise anyone to setup a motorized system on a chimney. Regards.

Just curious as to why not on a chimney its got the height and probably the best view of the ARC

I agree but then i would not put anything above 60cm up on a chimney and then would advise a mesh dish, as we all know most council law is maximum 60cm on a chimney

pain in the arse though m8 getting on the roof to fix any snags with a dish no matter what size if its fixed to a chimney .

Hi. If you have a motor ideally you want a dish bigger than 60cm. Also have you tried going up a chimney in the middle of a windy and cold night after you,ve had a few drinks???. Certainly the chimney is the ideal place for tracking the arc etc but can be tricky and dangerous for fixing problems. I prefer to have my dish and motor at a safe height. Take care.

All fair points but some installs can only go on chiney stacks and if done correctly would never need another visit, 60cm will get you a lot of sats just not the weaker beams.

And yes i would not advise anyone to go on a roof after a few drinks LOL

The dish had to go on the chimney because of massive great trees next door, only place to get a signal - I found on another forum that a guy used a 'voltage injector' which meant his openbox s11 worked when moving dishes, I took advice on this forum and bought a power inserter on e-bay - are these the same??
