    Help choosing new box appreciated

I would be grateful for help in making a decision on a new box. I have recently bought an original Openbox s11 and have set up sly. For the price of ?60 inc delivery I am happy with the box, but there are limitations. I cannot pickup all Sly HD channels, the EPG is very limited, there is no text and there is a little problem with lip sync.

I would like a new box that would overcome these problems, the boxes I have in mind are the Dreambox 800 HDse, either original or clone, I would prefer a clone as it is cheaper. The VU+ duo original or clone or the Solo. I am leaning towards the original VU+Solo, because it is original and the limited reviews I have read suggest it is a decent product and the price is right.

If there is anyone who has first-hand experience of these products and would care to give me advice from first hand use I would be very pleased to hear from you.

    Thanks in advance, Chris.

u can pick up all channel's on an openbox and lip sync is down to firmware. I have s9 but your right about epg. I'm looking at clone solo I think.

Thanks for your reply. I have followed a number of threads about Sly HD channels and lip-sync. For some reason some people are not able to pick up all the HD channels and the lip-sync is reguarly mentioned.

I have carried out numerous scans and located the transponder some of the channels such as F1HD are one but no joy. I have tried numerous firmwares, to the best of my knowledge I am using the latest official firmware. The lip-sync is small but noticeable, I can live with it, but it is there.

I have decided a new box is probably the way forward as I am fed up with flashing and searching satellites I think I have exhausted all aspects of these issues. I would like text and a proper EPG and even if the other two issues were resolved I would want a new box for this alone.

I would be grateful for comments on the boxes mentioned from those with experience of them.

        Thanks

        Chris

m8 if i where you i would buy the duo clone even if you dont need the extra tuner at the moment you might some time and for the money 180 odd it will be hard to find anything that comes close

you can forget about all the dm clone range as the duo runs rings round them and if you are never going to want the twin tuner function the next i would go for is solo clone in around 110 or genuine 199 all these boxs have good images and backup and 7 day epg also

              duo clone

I will soon be buying a box to, was thinking of the spider box until I read this thread.

The clone duo sounds great and with a twin tuner would be great for me . Where is the best place to buy one ,

From my limited research it seems AliExpress.com is the cheapest option at ?175ish imported from China by DHL.

                    Thanks and Sorry

Sorry lagerland for not posting an intro before asking a question. I have done that now.

I bought a Vu+ Duo with a VIX image. It is one intersting machine!

Lots of fun scrolling through the extensive menus and a couple of heart attacks and factory resets, no harm done except to my nerves!

I can only compare it to the Openbox and it is light years ahead of that, and cost loads more so not a fair comparison, but I am really pleased I got it and grateful for the advice of two tuners.

                    Thanks for your help,

                    Chris

1 word of warning doing a factory reset can have more serious problems as all your settings will be erased, its not like a cable box that only erases channel data.
