Oscam setup --- Should I or shouldn't I ??

Hello Chaps,

I am currently using cccam 2.2.1 on my ET 9000, now I went to use Pick TV and it didnt work, after a bit of research I learn (what you all know) that you need Oscam to read the card.

That is the only channel I am missing, and the others are working great. my question is - is it worth changing over to Oscam and Cccam or stick with what I have.

What are the benefits, or losses --- I have read a bit about Oscam and it doesn't seem that easy to do or is it just I havent read enough?

oscam is much better than cccam and can allow you to read pick tv and pick tv+1 as you say

it is better to use oscam on its own and not in conjunction with cccam (so not oscam+cccam, just oscam)

once you have read enough and changed over you wont go back

or do without pick tv and stay as you are

oscam files are all in var/tuxbox/config and bear no resemblance to the ones in cccam in var/etc

there are other channels also that need oscam to open....like boxnation and premiere sports and premiere sports +1

i been thinking bout it for a while...but still running on cccam 2.2.1

if you have a share with someone using oscam to read their cards and has those entitlements, you can open those mentioned channels even if you are running cccam

I think you need it for ppv events too.

install oscam wirh dvbapi
leave cccam on there also
and you can flick between the 2
best of both worlds

cccam opens the ppv events
as does oscam

I can only go so far on this without breaking rules, Best bet is dependant on your image say OpenPLi install TSpanel and got to the relevant section on the download cams feed. Select the Oscam version for your image most now have working configs for the card you want to use and then just install from there.
