STB Upgrade

I am going to upgrade my dish and get a few extra transponders, might even go motorised, if I can rustle up the funds I have an 800se and ive ordered an extra sat tuner for it.

Im just wondering if I would get any benefit from upgrade to a VU Duo/Ultimo or even a dm8000?

Or perhaps there is something else I could get that would be of more benefit?

these boxes are twin tuners unless you can use a twin tuner there is no advantage to your 800 se
if you decide to go for a twin tuner keep your static dish and fit a moterised dish along side it and put one cable into one tuner and the other cable from the static dish into the second tuner.i dont have any of those boxes but they get good reviews

ignoring budget , I would buy either the dm8000 , or the dm7020HD , or the vu ultimo or the duo , or the new clarke ET silverline box

but a motorised dish would be a better investment even with your present equipment , so a 1 metre dish , darkmotor and inverto ultrablack lnb would be on my shopping list long before a twin or triple tuner receiver

clones are "fakes" and alledgedly "originals" arent

or to put it another way , whats the difference between a dodgy dvd sold on a car boot or in a pub , compared to one being sold by amazon , like avatar or similar ?

I would always buy original sat boxes , as the patch makers tend to try to kill off clones or to stop you loading the latest patches

in theory an original box is better built , has a warranty and should be screwed together better , as well as all official software and patches working without difficulty

but there are some who swear by clones , and have little or no problems , and thereby save money (hopefully)

but if things go wrong, dont expect redress like you would with an official product sold by a reputable dealer that is under warranty too
