plenty of info on them in the openbox forum here on DK , suggest you look in there

nothing else can compare at that price point , although I prefer to buy second hand spiderboxes or starview combos as they are better boxes and sometimes can be had reasonably cheaply too

As a bedroom box SOLEY to watch tv , for the price , you won't better the openbox.

HD aswell & not a bad HD picture either.

Although i find the S10 & S11 have an ever so slighty better
HD quality than the S9, but that's just my experiences.

For reliability the S9 is best.
But all Openbox great value for money.

are you not better keeping upto date with openbox and going for openbox-skybox f3

i thought i read somewhere but copuld be wrong that the firmware for older boxs was stopping soon and the f series was taking over

FW as gone almost as far as it can on openbox, no real improvements for long time.

These boxes are basic and will share.
                      Epg is now/next.
                      Pvr works
                      hd pic is good.
For the money can't go wrong.

you can pickup a Clone VU Solo for ?120 ish now

i would save a little and buy one of these, or of course a 2nd hand one

i dont like the openboxes, good receiver for the price but very basic and cant do much with them, i had mine for a day before i sold it .

but if you just want to turn on and watch then i guess they ok

The only downside with the Openbox is the EPG, it's only now & next.

As my first box it's great, easy to setup and great HD picture. For the price you can't really go wrong.

                            Hi

As you want a cheap 2nd box for the bedroom you wont get much better for the price. Easy to setup.

Personally I woud go for the s9 or s10 as I think they are more reliable than the s11 or s12.

As for the firmware dont think it will make much difference, Ive got last March firmware on me sisters and dads box and they work fine, to be honest theres not been much improvement on each release of firmware for a while now anyway.

                            Regards
