Could someone explain the difference between a wifi dongle and a wireless bridge set up . After a quick search I can see most people use the 200mbps Homeplug*or vonets VAP11G or Tenda W150M. Any recommendations please?

generally speaking
a wireless dongle is an adapter mainly used on a pc or laptop on the usb ports to connect to a router wirelessly, but can also be said to mean an actual wifi adapter like 3g or similar that connects to the internet instead of to your wireless router, usually needing windows and drivers installed to work (or in a mac)
a wireless bridge is generally accepted to mean the vonets or the tenda adapters that allow you to connect an ethernet equipped box, console. tv , and many other items to a router wirelessly
then there are the homeplugs or similar that use the mains wiring to extend the ethernet from a router to the equipment
and you have the cheaper cat5 cables that hard wire from the equipment to the router, and are the best and preferred method of connection
