viasat reception

    viasat reception

    got technomate, 4.8 sirius picking loads off this satellite got viasat promo on this but when i change onto an original viasat box with card it is saying antenna problem this box is for 2 cables for recording but i have only run 1 off would this give me reception probs,on a 1m dish in middlesbrough,any ideas would be very grateful

    weaker tuner on board the official viasat box.. after all its intended for use in the center of the footprint with a very strong signal and not on the edge. you need a larger dish really or you could try a inverto black ultra twin to see if it gives you that little bit more better snr, regards mdt

      ok cheers this ultra lnb has been mentioned before will get one see where we go from there cheers

        The viasat boxes can be a bit up & down.

        You do really need two lnb feeds in as it wont receive the signal on some channels with only one lnb connected.

        Plus the weather is crap at the moment aswell.

          ok cheers i will put the other cable in first so running 2 cables if thats no good get a good lnb after that it leaves thinking about a bigger dish which is a road i didnt want to go down as i believe anything over 1m is planning permission needed cheers everyone for there help

            ive never heard anything so daft as that statement!!! unless viasat boxs are set up to only recieve certain channels on input 2 which seems a crazy way of doing things,regards mdt

              put the duel cable in still nothing just getting the viasat logo on a viasat original box i will purchase a new ultra lnb see if that does the trick cheers

                its just a standard twin tuner box running both lnb inputs will not improve reception just allow you to record.
