    Vu+ duo alternative

Hi guys . Now on the look out for a new receiver as my clone vu+ has gone to receiver heaven. Ideally want a cheaper alternative to the vu+ duo for my Motorised twin lnb setup . Will be using it for sat football and sly on a pay sever. Also wanted the abiltiy to record on an internal hdd whilst watchig another channel. Whats the best alternative? Many thanks
Ow also needs to be hd with a half decent epg.

are you certain that your vu clone cant be recovered? theres nothing really in the ?190 price range with the features and support of the duo although you might be able to get a second hand duo/xtrend/q-box ect for similar money. regards mdt

can you force flash these boxes with the firmware loader and null modem cable with a pc with xp and serial port if needed.?like the kryptview box powered off press download and power on.
i presume all ribbons are intact and secure inside?

Potrobber is correct no matter if your updating the Kernel or flashing an NFI made image you still need the IC connector in place or else it just will not work, Again also correct on the USB 2 Serial adaptors none work only a WinXP machine with serial port will work.

Dont get the Clarke-Tech/Xtrend model they all have a problem with SR30000 TP frequency on Tuner B and its a hardware fault only the 9200 silverline edition fixed this issue.

I would get a Duo official @?295 from most e-tailor's now

do you not have a ic update cable?? do you not know a friend/family member with a pc with a rs-232 com port??... keep trying as when i first flashed my solo it took me 10 attempts in about 6 hours to recover it from the dreaded red light but it worked in the end. dont give up so easily, regards mdt
