My skyplayer coming to an end, need help

At the minute i have skyplayer on my XBOX360 i also have VERMIN . Next Thursday i will be ringing Vermin and giving them their 30 day notice. About a month later my sis in law will be switching of her SLY package. I have a FREE SAT box but i will miss the footy. I have connections for both SLY and CABLE . Without stating the obvious can any of you guys advise what box i ought to buy in order to receive HD and enough memory to record the soaps, I'm not a collector of TV programs . just normal record then delete shortly after.A trusted brand name would be nice. Any advice would be appreciated . THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR REPLIES

You could get an Openbox for around ?50 which is a good HD box for simply watching TV but does very little else well. If you want anything like a similar experience to what you're used to you'll need an Enigma2 capable linux box like Vu+ or Dreambox. Obviously you'll need atleast a twin tuner if you wanna watch one thing & record another;

Best Value : Vu+ Solo Clone / Vu+ Duo Clone for twin tuner / Vu+ Ultimo for triple.
Best : DM 8000 HD

I'd get the Clone Duo for around ?170 then put in a harddrive yourself.

I was lookin at the dreambox 8000 hd, am i bein to greedy? ?450. How would this work , would i plug it into my router then play, how would this happen exactly. Was plannin on keepin vermin broadband , but it has a habit of disconnectin late in the evenin, thats despite them replacing the wireless router a few weeks ago. It actually disconnected durin the manu swansea game, took ages to come back on line. but they deny they at fault. So let me no wat ya fink of my selection

I cannot see you buying a dm8000 for that price, its usually around ?800 or more

but it is considered to be the top box, although expensive

usually people would consider the vu series like a duo or ultimo, or maybe the clarketech 9500 ET ?

no problem always best to ask first as someone will have more info,as ram says buy cheap or buy twice and some are not cheap to buy.

I think i have plumed for this box, so i expect to have it by the time the footy starts again. The cash I'm saving by disconnecting virgin,goes to-wards it. Anyway whenever i order this unit and await its arrival, apart from the money i pay for it will i have to pay a subscription there after? Curious as this to me seems a little to sweet to be wholesome, also i got the tip of buying from direct from China due to the lack of complaints there are buying direct. And lastly will i find it that difficult to run in, as I've never done it before.

After you get your box up and running....you will need a subscription of some kind in order to get the premium channels clearing.

Google cardshare and that will give you the information you require.

If you are buying original ultimo box...then do not be buying from China....buy it from UK from reputable...

Also the dm8000 clone are around ?375....but like everyone been saying the ultimo looks good for the price
