Looks like a scaled down version ... some 3 pm matches are going to be shown on Viasat, the rest will be shown on their new Viaplay internet channels. However there are still other broadcasters going to be showing the footy ... Satellite Bg showing at least 2 games at 3pm etc

Hi.Yesterday Bulsat 39 east showed 2 live 3pm games, one on DIEMA and one on NOVASPORT. I read somewhere that from next season all providers will be able to show ONE 3pm Saturday game plus the 17:30 game. Providers will be able to pick which 3pm game they want to show. Wait and see Regards.

What's your source for this ?

The UK deal has not been confirmed yet and this is done before the overseas rights.

If your source isnt the premier league or Viasat themselves be very sceptical.

Canal may even win the rights back.

Swedish media company Modern Times Group (MTG) has acquired further broadcast rights to England's Premier League in Sweden and Denmark until 2016.

Under terms of the rights extension - which is thought to mark the Premier League's first international rights sale for the 2013/14 to 2015/16 soccer seasons - MTG has acquired the television rights to all 38 rounds of the Premier League in both countries on an annual basis.

According to an official press release, 'All of the rights are exclusive on all platforms in Sweden. The rights to approximately 280 of the matches are exclusive on all platforms in Denmark, while the rights to approximately 100 matches are non-exclusive.'

In Sweden Viasat Premier League games will be aired on MTGs Viasat sports channels while in Denmark matches will be shown on free-TV channel TV3.

"The Barclays Premier League is the most popular domestic club football competition in the world and has a huge fan base in Scandinavia," said MTG president and chief executive Hans-Holger Albrecht. "We are therefore delighted to have both prolonged our exclusive TV rights in Sweden and now secured an enhanced rights package in Denmark. We will continue to provide viewers with premium coverage of matches for the next three years in SD, HD and 3D, and on as many platforms and devices as possible. High quality delivery of the best entertainment content on an anytime anywhere basis is what Viasat is all about.
Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore added, "We are extremely pleased that Modern Times Group has won the rights to broadcast the Barclays Premier League in Sweden and Denmark. I am sure they will continue to deliver fantastic coverage of the League to our many fans in both countries.
In addition to Sweden and Denmark, MTG current maintains the broadcast rights to the Premier League in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Bulgaria
