HD channels

Hi guys

I have a dbox cable set up but i just realised that there is a sat connection also, following the line outside takes me to one of those Sky minidish, so i borrowed my m8 sat box and plugged in, all i got was FTA channels.

I was wondering since i already have connection is there anyway someone can send me a tut, what equipment, software leads i need . step by step in plain english to set up from this stage... oh and i would like it to play HD channels.

To recieve HD channels you will need a HD sat box such as dreambox dm800. Connecting anything to your Sky minidish will just give you FTA channels as Sky is not hacked. If you wish to recieve Sky channels on your box then you will need to subscribe or look into cardsharing.

with Card sharing do i need to do anything to the dish?
I only want the Sky HD channels and TVB (chinese channels)

I do not have either box so cannot really comment on which may be the better buy. Discussions about cardsharing are not allowed on the forum so you need to google for further information.
