    Scart adapter problem

If I try to use two devices on my multi-scart, for example, a Kryptview cable box and a satellite box, the sound is terrible, crackles etc. What can I do about this? I don't want to unplug the sat cable and replace it with the cable scart every time I wish to change what I am viewing. Each is fine when used alone.

Everything I have read says that these things have problems when both devices are switched on. Mine has interference when one is off, must be really naff!

Might try an automatic switchable alternative.

Hello have you tried a switchable scart multi adaptor i bought 1 from Argos a few years ago and it worked great i could connect 4 scart leads to it and each connection had a button on the side so you just switched on the one you needed

NEW OFC BLACK METAL 3X SCART SWITCH, 2X RCA GOLD PLATED | eBay

I haven't tried one but am bidding on an automatic version. Just cannot be arsed to get up and switch. So it has to be automatic.

Hi. These multi scarts connectors only work fine when you have only one device powered on. This is because you can only have one output coming out of the connector into the tv. If you have more than one device powered on you get interference. You best bet is to connect the cable box directly to the tv using a scart lead. Then connect the satellite box to the tv using phono leads( these are the sockets marked as Video/Audio and are coloured yellow, white red etc. Or you can connect using HDMI cable if you have this type of connections. Then you wont need the multi scart connector which to be honest i find to be a waste of time. Regards.
