    What are Softcam Keys

    Hello everyone,

I just wanted to a few questions since I'm going to buy a motorised system soon. I hope you don't mind be asking these questions, I'm very new to this.

    1) First is pretty straight forward. What are softcam keys? Do they unlock encryptions or are they channels which someone is streaming from somewhere else?

Sorry if my assumptions seem ignorant because I actually don't have a clue.

    2) If I wanted the following: TF1, France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5, Canal Sport, Trace Tropical, RAI sport 1, would that be possible? (I'm not actually french! but they do show some sport on those channels (ex Trace Tropical) I would want)

2b) or am I better off getting a subcription?

    3) Do the keys stop working regularly?

    4) Can you get viruses from these keys or can they damage the box? (Thinking about getting the 5402 Technomate)
These are all my questions for now. If you could clear up some of my questions I would be very greatful.

hi, softcam keys are the keys used with a cam emulator to open a hacked providor which open certain channels. some of the channels you are after are available with a patched reciever.. you could get a technomate 5400sd or 5402hd which are closed source or a dm500sd or dm800hd which are open source linux but require alot more work and learning to get up and running. you could of course get a official fransat box and card which lasts about 4 years for around ?200 if you want to go the official route then there is using your broadband/lan connection for CS but due to the dodgy nature of it we can discuss it here on dk. you can get fr2/fr3/rai sport1 FTA and there is also sport italia 1+2 on 12.5w that also show sport FTA also.regards mdt

        1) if you download and unpack a softcam and open using notepad you will see the hex keys inside the text file. emulator plus keys opens those channels

        2) a sub is best but can cost more hence these hacked versions

        3) yes , but they generally need regularly updating to keep them working which is why so many are posted on the net regularly

        4) no and no

1)So how do I get a patched receiver then? I guess this is what I need or can I patch it myself?

I don't know what exactly is a patched receiver other than I assume it is a modified receiver after it has come out of the factory.

          2) What is BISS?

          3) Where are the best places to get keys etc? (Canal+, France Televisions, Canal Digtaal, NRK, TVE, Trace Tropical. I'll know I'll buy at least one Subscription card don't want to over do it and abuse it )

I haven't got my system yet but I'm building up my knowledge base.

you dont buy a patched reciever it comes as fta and then you patch it yourself... you can get software patches and softcam/keys on here or many other places on the net. a jsc+1 to jsc+10 is a very good value card for sports and thats what i would get if i wanted 1 card for my box. b.i.s.s. is a encrypion system used by some broadcasters for feed/turnaround signals, some of which are available on the net.. regards mdt

              1) you buy a suitable box like the dreambox , vu , tm5402 , blade bm7000s , spiderbox or many others can be chosen too , patch it yourself using patches from forums, follow tutorials and then add softcams etc

              2) biss you can google but its basically a set of hexadecimal fixed keys you input as required

              3) from forums such as this one, usually in the sections for the box you actually own, like dreambox or technomate or spiderbox, or from the main forum we are in now, depending on make and model
