Sky+ recording (only) sound and picture break ups

Hello all, I am a new member and think this forum is brilliant.

I have checked previous threads but my question is....would a reset of the hard disc fix my problem of bad planner recordings which have intermittant sound and freezing. Sometimes they record ok but generally not. The box details are amstrad sky+, o/system 1.31BO7, software 5.04.e. I am unsure if a reset will make things worse. Normal tv is ok.

a reset will erase all ur recordings, but first check all ur connections, on back of box dish input no.1 is wat ur watchin, dish input no.2 is for recording to, me it sounds like a bad conn on input no.2 or ur lnb on dish is on the way out

Thankyou very much for your advice. I will do as you suggest and check the connections and take it from there.

or replace 1 with 2 and see if that helps
